Blood plasma is the liquid component of blood. It contains many proteins, but the blood cells have been removed. An anticoagulant is added to the material to prevent clotting.
Blood serum is formed when NO anticoagulant is added to the liquid component of the blood.

- The anticoagulant used is always CPD (citrate-phosphate-dextrose).
- The material is tested in accordance with SRC guidelines.
- It can be ordered either filtered or unfiltered.
